WALKING down the aisle in Tesco, Jess Sheppard has to stop herself from picking up another pair of PJs into her basket, as she has placed herself on a strict shopping ban.

The 33-year-old influencer (@jessmsheppard) from Berkshire used to go on huge spending sprees – but her new money rules have helped her save £1,000 in a month.

Before, a quick trip to the supermarket would see her leave with an unnecessary purchase, such as another pair of PJs or lipstick she didn’t need.

“If I was doing, say, an H&M order because I needed a plain white t-shirt, I’d then end up with like six other things in the online basket,” she said.

“And I’d be like ‘oh, it’s okay, I’m going to return them all’, and then I wouldn’t return them.”

She said she was the “worst for impulse spending” and would rarely look at what was going in and out of her bank account.
